Community members need to be able to trust the others that belong to the same community. It’s difficult to do this with one single action. It’s more a lot of different actions that come together to create this trust. When community members ask questions it helps bring everybody together when they get detailed feedback from others in the community. When there are open discussions within the community it creates a bond because they all feel that their ideas will be supported by others.
- Engagement is difficult to measure because it involves multiple behaviors, not just one.
- Different types of engagement include explore, ask, share and validate and they have different levels of connection and motivation.
- What is meaningful about a specific engagement is an objective thing, it really depends on your community. It’s nearly impossible to measure engagement with regards to valuations of business.
“The Community Roundtable’s Community Engagement Framework is designed to help categorize, measure, and understand the impact of different types of engagement.”
