Getting members to respond to content they view is extremely important. The 90-9-1 theory says 90 percent of people only view content, where 9 percent responds to content and only 1 percent actively creates new content. In order to change this model, think about the goals of your organization. Clearly defining goals will allow you to know how to promote the engagement. Furthermore, define the problems of your organization. The problems members face often provide enough of a barrier to prevent them from engaging.
- You need to start with goals that are clear and easy to measure.
- Consider the most urgent problems your members might be having and come up with ways to help them.
- Be sure your staff members’ roles are clearly defined and each employee knows who is responsible for each area of your member engagement strategy.
